Last month, Trinity Smith heard rumors that a dog would bark in the mountains of Colorado. The mountains don’t have much of anything, especially domestic life, but people swore they could hear a dog barking. So, Smith decided that she would head up there to see what all the fuss was about.
An additional reason for her manhunt was that a lost dog poster was making its rounds in her town and Smith wondered if the two were one and the same.
When she went up there the first time the rumors were immediately proven. She could hear barking but she didn’t know where it was coming from. She searched for a while on her own but headed home before it got too dark. She returned the next day with her friend, Sean Nichols. The duo called out for the dog for several hours without hearing anything. Before they were about to pack up and head home, they heard a dog barking.
Smith and Nichols made their way towards the sound and found the lost dog, 14-year-old Chloe. The dog had been missing for six weeks after having gotten loose during a walk with her owners. Her owners had searched for her every day for weeks but when nothing turned up, they feared Chloe was lost.
Nichols and Smith packed Chloe into their car and drove her back to town. They also announced on social media that they located the dog.
